Things from the past

We went to Spain for the Christmas holiday and we have found the following things “from the past” in the house of Bianca’s grandma.

This fireplace is in the old kitchen that is no longer in use. More than 30 years ago it was used for cooking. Imagine it is empty in the middle, you would put some wood at the bottom on the floor and make some fire; over the fire you would put a cast iron cooking tripod on the top of which you put a cooking dish.


Nowadays, this traditional method of cooking has been replaced by this:

Another thing we found was a traditional  sweeping brush made of natural materials like hemp, anea grass and other easily available plants. 

This one was made by Bianca’s great grandfather.
