Phonics

We have different groups for phonics. Simon's group has been looking again at the sound "ng". We've been getting familiar with the On the Ning Nang Nong.

Also with the "ng" sound is our song Bingo!

And we also had some practice at writing the "ow" sound:

"How now, brown cow?"

Phonics in K3

Every morning in K3, the children sit down on the carpet for our whole class phonics lesson. We follow the phonics program 'Letters and Sounds' and have finished set 7 of phase 3. In K1 and K2, the children were taught the action for each letter sound from jolly phonics, which we continue using in K3.
This week we looked at the phonemes: 'z', 'zz' and 'qu'. On Friday, the children reviewed the sounds of the week and enjoyed playing some interactive phonics games.
